Probably Enough with the Neon

dress, Target - necklace, H&M - shoes & bag, Aldo - blazer, Topshop
K so this is a silly collection of photos. I knew I would want to blog about the outfit but we had a busy day planned so I put off taking the pictures. Stupidly these were taken when I was sweaty, gross and yucky feeling after a plate of poutine big enough to feed a small family.
As you can see I am also playing peekaboo with my shoes, which was silly cause they are my favourite part of the outfit. They were 15$ and originally 50$ from Aldo.. sweet deals!
Also, if you live in Toronto. ENTER THIS CONTEST PLEEEEASE: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=390655977654100&set=a.390655964320768.100237.173899159329784&type=3&theater
Thanks bye!

Transitions

skirt, Factory Outlet - top, Express
For my special night out I swapped my flowy white blouse for a light pink strapless top. Another one of those pieces I haven't had a chance to wear since buying it, but it was so pretty I couldn't give it up.
I am aware that these pictures are on the artsy side so you can't really see this pretty top..
Well, sometimes that happens when you are trying to be cool and stuff…
Cool forever, yours truly,

Needs Something Else

sweater, Macy's - skirt, Zara - purse, H&M - shoes, Topshop
You know those moments where you cannot quite put a finger on the final touch of an outfit? This was one of those moments, I felt like there was a finishing piece missing. Overall, I love love this skirt so much, since I got it a few years ago. It is so flattering because it synchs in the waist and the second layer gives me an allusion of hips!
Clothes, clothes, clothes. Boy do we have an obsession with such a meaningless consumer item!

Melting

skirt, H&M - top, American Eagle - purse, Aldo - shoes, Banana Republic
Basically, the pretty girl in the middle Katie has left Canada for good and to celebrate (well in more appropriate terms say goodbye/we will miss you) we had a lovely potluck lunch! I really love that picture of us, we look so silly! That day was the hottest day I have endured in Toronto yet. The humidity almost killed us all but we managed to still look somewhat put together and pretty.
I love this skirt, it has become my favourite traveling skirt because it is so easy to wear with anything! Hope everyone is enjoy their summer!

PerfectPerfectProm

Oh Prom! It has got to be the most prefect night of your life. The perfect date, dress, shoes, hair, limo, table, dance, corsage … the list can go on much longer. And I always said and I quote, “I’m not gonna be like those silly girls who get all worked up for prom and look silly doing it!” Well I didn’t exactly turn into a prom-zilla or anything but the stars just fell in line and I had that perfect night. I was SO happy with this dress. It was one of those amazing moments similar to Cinderella where you say, if the dress fits then WEAR it!
As you can see above Harry and I coordinated our flower arrangements so we can match *cue fake awhs*. But the dress I am wearing is from a fabulous place on Queen Street called Original’s and my nude shoes are Nine West (which aren’t seen in this pictures but they rock). Harry is decked out in a navy blue Zara suit. But I have to give Carly McDougald so much credit for these beautifully hilarious picture for us! They were in-the-moment shots and I LOVE them!
Happy Prom to everyone who has either had theirs or are getting ready for their own! Because you really do deserve the perfect night!

Girly Things

Me:  blouse, Topshop – skirt, TNT Blue – boots, Browns – purse, Aldo     Oliva: dress, Topshop – shoes, Steve Madden – Coat, Sandro
Meet my friend Livie! She is super duper cute – and that includes her style! She has always been a fun, inspiring and a totally cool dresser. Every dress-down she always goes the extra mile to look a little more put together. Her key looks are rufflely skirts and shirts, and pretty dresses! I absolutely adore the heels she is wearing – they are sky-high and shiny but I was her crutch for the rest of the night. I thought I would share this cute outfit of hers, so lady-like. We had a lovely sushi-girls-dinner that night and tucked in early.
Up next? A little prom-tastic inspiration. Classic but all the cheesy pictures too :)

How do you Define your Style?

BEFORE:

 AFTER:

RESULT:

With the extra days off last Easter weekend I decided to finally take a stab at my over-flowing closet. Basically after living in two separate houses this was the result of everything coming together without much organization. My mom and I try to do this bi-yearly and it is a really refreshing experience. Normally we have about 5-10 people look through it before we give the rest to a woman’s shelter or Goodwill. I wish I saw this post at Shawn’s Serpentine Streets before my clean out because these are the rules that should be followed! Surprisingly I followed them as best I could and gave away some things that I was hanging on to for too long. Anyhow as I was cleaning I kept asking my self the same question – What in the WORLD is my style?
You know on all those websites like Lookbook.nu or Chictopia.com where they pose you the question: define your style. I am always, ALWAYS stumped. I have clothes from designers, thrift stores (especially value village), highstreet brands, vintage shops, my mothers closet etc. They seem to all blend together in my closet. I love polka dots, stripes, flower prints, preppy, edgy, feminine and so many more styles. I know that it is not necessary to define a persons style in one sentence but sometimes it would be a whole lot easier. Shopping wouldn’t be so frustrating (or expensive) and I could go about picking outfits with a bit more ease. Most days I rely on my mood and the weather.
But now I ask you readers, what do you think my style is? Is there any point trying to define it? How do you define your style?
